Fans of GOLF loved Scottie Scheffler, a "relative" Masters player who four-putted the last hole at Augusta.

Rory McIlory's late surge helped the American win his maiden green jacket.

The 25-year old reminded his fans that he is still human after an impressive performance with a four-putt at the 18th.

Scheffler's last hole showing was posted by a fan who wrote: "Scottie Scheffler made an extremely relatable putt on 18!"

Another comment: Scottie Scheffler, I appreciate your tip to the Everyman. Four putt is my speed zone man.

A third was added: "One of Us!" One of us!

Scheffler wins maiden green jacket at Augusta, beating McIlroy

McIlroy was still three shots behind Scheffler despite his four-putt.

He said, "I tried not to lose my head and execute shots after my victory."

"I knew that if I took care and played solid stuff, I would get the job done.

"I was glad that I didn't miss those putts at end, because it meant I wasn't too emotional."

McIlroy was, however, delighted with his performance.

According to the 32-year old, it was "absolutely incredible" to play as well and finish as well.

"This tournament never ceases amaze me. This is the most happy I've ever been on a course of golf."
