One of the greatest names of all time is Steve Stricker's American Ryder Cup Team.

Tiger Woods is out of the 2021 tournament, just two years after his incredible comeback win at The Masters.

USA and Europe have both confirmed 12-man teams to the Ryder Cup in Europe, which begins on September 24th in Whistling Straits (Wisconsin).

Woods is not part of the American team. Phil Mickelson also misses out.

Why isn’t Tiger Woods playing at the 2021 Ryder Cup in 2019?

Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident that occurred in February.

After the California crash, which saw his car plunge into a ravine and cause severe damage to both driver & car, the 45-year old underwent surgery.

He sustained multiple fractures to his lower right leg. Recently, he was wearing a protective knee-to-toe boot.

Steve Stricker (USA's Ryder Cup captain) has ruled out any assistant position for Tiger at Whistling Straits. Former stars are often part the captain's support group.

Stricker stated, "I've spoken to Tiger a lot. He is a member of the Ryder Cup family.

He won't be able be a captain’s assistant this time round due to his ongoing rehabilitation to get better and to play again golf, which is going well.

"[Tiger] is making progress. "He's doing well. Things are moving in the right directions."

When will Tiger Woods golf again?

Woods' priority is to walk again after his horror smash.

The sporting world was stunned by the 2019 Masters winner, who defied all odds to win his fifth Green Jacket at Augusta.

This will be his biggest comeback.

Tiger has not yet set a comeback date, but he is working to get his rehab under control in order to prove that he is the master of the comeback.

He posted a photo with his dog in April as his golf course development continues.

He laughed and said, "My course is moving faster than I am."
