BRYSON DECHAMBEAU is active in the last week of September and not only in the Ryder Cup.

The American will also be competing in the World Long Drive Championships. This competition will determine who has the longest driving record in the world.

DeChambeau will travel to the opposite side of the country to take the Long Drive event, following Team USA's unsuccessful attempt to win the Ryder Cup from Europe.

On September 27, the world's top drivers will be in Mesquite, Nevada to hit golf balls as far and as fast as they can.

Justin James holds the current competition record with 435 yards, which he ran back in 2017.

DeChambeau currently holds the record at 321 yards. This is the longest distance on the tour.

Long Drive events, however, are an entirely different kettle of fish. Players often need to reach 400 yards in order to be eligible for the top spots.

The World Long Drive will be held from September 27 to October 1.

DeChambeau told Golf.com that his hands were "ruined" from the training.

People don't realize the difficulty of long drives. Golf is the only sport where you can measure your achievements by a number.
