Watch LIV rebel Ian Poulter engage in a frenzied row with Horschel on the putting green just before the PGA Championship

LIV GOLF rebel Ian Poulter got into a heated argument with American star Billy Horschel at the putting green in advance of the BMW PGA Championship.

They could be seen at Wentworth on Wednesday before the opening round of tournament which began on Thursday morning.

Billy Horschel and Ian Poulter were involved in heated exchanges on the putting green

LIV Golf rebel Poulter was allowed to play at BWA PGA Championship because he is among the top 60 players in the world.

LIV Golf members have been suspended from the PGA Tour, most DP World Tour events and can still play at Wentworth if ranked within the top 60.

Horschel was furious that 17 LIV golf players would be participating in this tournament.

Poulter's and Horschel were locked in a heated exchange just 24 hours after they had fought over the Ryder Cup legend with Lee Westwood, his British compatriot.

The defending BMW PGA champion stated that he and Ian got along very well. However, they have supported the Tour for a long time throughout their careers.

"I feel it's a slap on the face to all the other members of this Tour.

"That they are coming to play, I believe that the largest purse on the DP World Tour has a full field. They will be taking money from the pockets of men this week."

Now, fast forward to the next day and Horschel was having a heated conversation with Poulter in a video that National Club Golfer's George Cooper shared.

Although it is not clear what Poulter or Horschel were talking about, Cooper, an eyewitness, has said that it did not look like a friendly conversation.

He said, "While they were too far apart to understand what was being spoken - and my lips aren't as good as they used to - it sure didn't seem like a friendly catch up.

"I asked Poulter to comment afterward, but he (politically) declined."

One Twitter user wrote: "Horschel, football is football. Poulter: No! Football is soccer.

Another quipped, "Evidently they cannot agree on the restaurant tonight ..."."

Another added, "These guys clearly care deeply about putting techniques."

The person laughed and said, "Clearly speaking about Fantasy football trades."

Rory McIlroy recently admitted to having a rift in his European Ryder Cup team with which he stated: "I wouldn’t say that I have much of a relationship at the moment with them."

They are here. They are participating in the golf tournament. They shouldn't be there, but that's my opinion.
