This is an increase of $600k over the $2.07m Collin Morikawa received for winning the tournament 2021.

This year's Masters edition was the most prize-rich Major ever.

Rory McIlroy threw in an amazing 64-round round to move himself into second, and he took home $1.62m.

Cameron Smith and Shane Lowry finished joint-third, each taking home $870,000.

Scheffler was the big winner, his winnings boosting his total 2021-22 earnings by a staggering $10,098,014.

"I LOVE THIS PLACE"

Over his four rounds in Georgia he hit 278 shots, which means that each wedge, putt, and drive earned him $9,721.

Scheffler earned $37,500 for each hole he played during the four-day event.

Amazingly, this is only $300 less than the $38,500 England’s Tyrell Hatton earned throughout the tournament, despite the fact that he made the cut and finished 52nd.

Scheffler's final round was bizarre. The steady-away World No1 showed that he is just like we by four-putting 18th.

Scheffler and Meredith celebrated the outcome in a typically subdued manner.

He said he had cried like a baby before the round began and was overwhelmed by the situation.

He stated that he had dreamed of playing in this tournament and was so excited to receive my first invitation.

"I love this place, and if I had to pick a tournament to win it would it be this.

"WE WILL GO ON"

Ukrainian family sends inspiring video to US family - "victory will soon become ours"

"You don’t know how many chances there are to win. You don’t want to waste them. The human condition is to make it bigger than it is and to think it’s a bigger deal than it really is.

"I don’t know what I should say, but I’m really grateful to be here. It's not like anything has really sink in. My head spins still."

The $15m prize is the most expensive ever awarded in a Major. However, it's not the biggest fund on the PGA Tour.

This honor goes to Players' Championship who split $20m among the field this year.
