Woods' first birdie was cheered by the crowd.

Woods started the 2022 Masters with a steady pace and finished the round level par.

Then he lined up to hit his tee shot on the par three sixth green.

Woods didn't make a fairytale comeback, but he left the simplest tap-in for his first birdie.

Tiger Woods' injuries: Broken legs, feet, and ankles after a car accident - Tiger Woods

Augusta's patrons roared with approval when Woods' tee shot was directed towards the hole. There were even more cheers when he made birdie.

Woods almost undid his outstanding work on the sixth hole.

An errant tee shot on par four seventh saw Woods in trees to the right of fairway.

His approach shot ended up in front a bunker right next to the green.

Woods saved par with a great chip on the green, which helped him stay one under through the first seven holes.

Woods stated earlier this week that he would be making his return to Augusta.

In February 2021, the five-time Masters winner sustained serious leg injuries in an accident in Los Angeles that resulted in him losing his job.

Woods is back and is confident enough to win the entire competition.
