The Masters 2023 will be finished on Monday.

THE Masters could be set for a rare Monday finish at Augusta National this year.

However, this year’s second round was affected by horrific weather conditions meaning we could see a delayed finish.

The storms started on Friday at 11am (7am EST) and got progressively worse up to 8pm (4pm EST), with wind picking up pace after 5pm (1pm EST).

Saturday’s conditions at Augusta haven’t been ideal either with play now suspended for the rest of the day.

Will the Masters 2023 finish on a Monday?

As it stands, a Monday finish at Augusta is looking inevitable with weather conditions disrupting play on both Friday and Saturday.

Saturday’s play was suspended for the rest of the day at 3:15pm EDT.

Sunday and Monday’s forecast is set to be dry for the impending final two days of the tournament.

Currently, Brooks Koepka is leading at the Masters at -13 under par, four strokes in front of World No.3 Jon Rahm at -9 under par.

Amateur Sam Bennett has stunned the world of golf and is currently third in the standings.

How many times has the Masters finished on a Monday and when did it last happen?

The Masters tournament has been around for a massive 87 years.

And there has been just five occasions where the Green Jacket winner has been decided on a Monday.

The last time the Masters finished on a Monday was in 1983 due to heavy rainfall which started on the opening day right through to the Saturday.

Nevertheless, golf legend Seve Ballesteros won his second Green Jacket in four years, beating Ben Crenshaw and Tom Kite by four strokes.
