Shane Lowry curses'morning after the night before' during celebrations following BMW PGA Championship.

After winning the BMW PGA Championship, SHANE LOWRY cursed 'the morning after'.

Offaly's man pulled off a remarkable final round performance at Wentworth to beat Rory McIlroy by one shot.

Lowry was joined at Wentworth by Niall Horan, a pop star.

Lowry, however, was left cursing "the morning after" the night before Monday

Lowry was up early the next day, but he didn't stop celebrating Sunday night.

The 2019 Open champion posted a series of photos to Instagram in which he described the celebrations.

Lowry is seen in one of his IG Stories, reclining in a chair with the trophy in his left and a beer in right.

He was accompanied by Niall Horan (pop star and avid golf fan), who was there to cheer on his fellow Irishman.

The Westmeath singer has been a regular at golf courses since joining Robbie Keane at last month's ISPS Handa World Invitational Pro Am at Galgorm Castle.

He was also hitting the course in Limerick's all-star JP McManus Pro Am in July.

Feeling low?

Lowry was entitled to his celebrations. However, he suffered the side effects the next morning.

On Monday morning, he was drinking a recovery coffee and captioned it with: "Morning after last night".

Lowry was forced to wait in the clubhouse until he was confirmed as BMW PGA champion, as McIlroy completed his round.

The Holywood native stepped up to make an eagle attempt on 18 and was on -15, two shots behind Lowry on 17

His putt seemed to be in the right place to set up a play-off and was just short of the hole.

Lowry was able to see the relief when the camera cut to him. He bizarrely held out his tongue and turned it around while looking cross-eyed.

LOW BLOW

Lowry took a celebratory shot at LIV Golf Tour rebels that participated in the BMW PGA Championship, after it had been won.

Sky Sports interviewed him: "I made no secret of how I feel about the whole situation.

"I was determined to win for myself, but for everyone who has been loyal to the Tour, I truly believe this Tour is for the good guys."

He was not afraid to express his opinions on LIV going into Wentworth. This suggests that they were disruptive.

He stated, "This week is going to be a major talking point in golf."

"I can't personally say I'm okay with everyone being there - but there are some guys that I don't mind being here, given the things they've done over the years for [DP World Tour] the tour.

"There are some guys I can't stand being around, to be truthful.

"I don’t like that they’re here – to be truthful - but the one thing I don’t like about the past few months has been how disruptive they’re trying to make my life.

"And I understand why they are here - to gain world ranking points – and all that - but I think they are here to disrupt the system." They're not here for any other reason, I think.
