PAIGE SPIRANAC took the opportunity to thank Cameron Smith and herself on Twitter following his win at The Open.
Smith's "historic victory" was a highlight for Spiranac, who picked him to be the outright winner on Thursday.
Paige Spiranac congratulated Cameron Smith for winning The Open, as she had predicted.
The former pro golfer was proven right by the Aussie star, who made five birdies on his back nine to defeat Cameron Young and Rory McIlroy.
Spiranac tweeted: “Congratulations to Cam Smith on a historic victory. Congratulation to him for winning.
American golfer, Tom Watson, added that "This Open was incredible. One for the ages.
"This is why the game is so much fun to watch. It's all about the passion these guys have for winning. It's not about money."
McIlroy, the British star McIlroy saw his Major drought turn into a ninth-year at St Andrews.
Smith was the first Australian winner of The Open in 28-years. He broke down when he spoke about his historic win.
According to the 28-year old, "I'm going to be broken I know."
"I would like to thank my team and all their hard work over the past two years.
"This one is definitely worth it. Thank you to the R&A for a fantastic week, St Andrews Links, volunteers, and the superintendent, and everyone else involved.
It was amazing out there. It was exactly how an Open championship should look. It was unbelievable. Thank you guys so much.
"To my fans, I received a lot of support. I was kept going by the Aussie men, especially. You were all so many. This one goes to Aus! Thank you guys.

"It's unreal. It's a cool place. To win the 150th Open at this venue is something I had always hoped for. It was amazing to see how far I would get. It's awesome.
