The golfers begged 'Buster' for 'be kind' but the crab insisted that he was the new owner.

Paul Buhner from local explained that the video was filmed by him.

"He has a bloody good grip on the thing - take a look at that."

The crab was not keen to let go of its driver and to stop his owner from prying it from his claws he snapped the shaft, cutting through it 'like an operator'.

Buhner's friend said to Buhner: "That's unfair, I like this club."

The crab didn't seem to be bothered and continued to fight for more golf equipment.

Buhner stated: "He's going take that, and we're getting that back."

The Aussie added: "Alright, we concede defeat."

Reddit users were shocked by the viral video. One former Coconut Island resident compared the sight to a horror scene, with a swarming of robber crabs emerging from the trees.

They said, "They love coming out after dark and it can be a bit scary when a Barbie and a swarm start coming in from trees."

Another said, "Golf can also make me crabby."
