‘Are we in an alternate dimension today?’ ask PGA Championship fans as supporter strips down to boxers and jumps in lake

GOLF fans were shocked after seeing a supporter strip off to retrieve a club for Adam Hadwin at the PGA Championship.

Hadwin had thrown his eight iron in the lake at the Valhalla Golf Course in Kentucky after hitting the water on the seventh hole.

Hadwin finished the round on 72

The Canadian’s wife, Jessica, confirmed it was his club after responding to a viral video of its bizarre recovery.

A fan kindly offered to retrieve the golf club from the lake and stripped down to just his boxers and socks to go into the water.

He jumped straight into the lake and found the club before throwing it to the side and being helped out.

Fans could not believe the moment as it went viral on social media.

One fan posted: “This is going to break internet.”

A second wrote: “That’s pretty unhinged.”

A third commented: “Oh my. Valhalla really did have just about everything possible happen on its bingo card today.”

A fourth said: “I feel like today we’re in some kind of alternate dimension that we can’t get out of.”

A fifth joked: “Keeping the socks on was a choice.”

Another added: “Left the socks on. Absolute Legend.”

Hadwin completed his round with a score of 72 which was enough to qualify him for the weekend action.

After completing the round, Hadwin said: “I didn’t finish as strongly as I would have liked.

“It really put a sour taste on what could have been a pretty decent round.

“Bogeying seven for the second day in a row really gets to you.”

It is not the first time the PGA No.51 star has been involved in a surprising moment during the tour.

Last year, he was tackled by security while trying to celebrate the Canadian Open with compatriot Nick Taylor.

The fan in the lake capped off an eventful day at the golf.

World no.1 Scottie Scheffler was arrested by police just hours before he was due to tee-off.
