RYDER CUP fans joked Nick Faldo has “superpowers” after an incredibly spooky moment live on Sky Sports.

The four-time winner and former Masters champion was discussing Europe’s 16½-11½ victory this weekend in Rome.

But then he produced a bizarre incident which left viewers at home partly amazed and partly terrified.

Speaking about the comedown after three days of incredible but intense golfing drama and bitter rivalry, Faldo, 66, said: “You watch, wallop.

“It won’t just be the alcohol.

“Emotionally it will be a serious wallop, they’ll be like jellyfish tomorrow morning.”

Hilariously, though, just as Faldo mentioned the alcohol giving the European players a “wallop”, a person walking across the Marco Simone course in the background suddenly and unexpectedly falls over.

The person in question simply stacked it in the distance for no apparent reason as their friends look back in confusion.

They quickly pick themselves back up again before continuing across in the background on the TV screen.

But though they dusted themselves off and tried to smooth out the embarrassment, supporters enjoying the action on the telly did not let it slide.

And plenty of the attention went to Faldo’s seeming unbelievable force.

One said: “Listen to what he’s saying and watch what happens in the background. Nick Faldo apparently has superpowers…”

Another added: “He may be ‘dull as a potato’ but he has special powers.”

A third replied: “We always knew he did.”

A fourth asked: “Is Nick Faldo magic?”

Faldo, who played in 11 Ryder Cups between 1977 and 1997, even got in on the fun and shared the viral video with a series of emojis – including a laughing face, six beers and a downward arrow.

Speaking of beers, the European team certainly celebrated with plenty after getting their hands on the iconic trophy.

Viktor Hovland was right at the thick of the action, on and off the course, as he posed for a superb photo with no fewer than 16 European Wags.

There were jubilant scenes by the 16th green, too, when Europe unofficially sealed the win.

Tommy Fleetwood’s monster drive helped him win the hole against Rickie Fowler to go two up with two holes remaining.

And that prompted a Colonel Sanders lookalike to run out from the crowd and across the green before jumping into the lake – then dozens of other European fans followed suit.
