HIDEKI MATSUYAMA was the first Japanese male golfer to win a major following his Masters victory last season.
He's back at The Open looking for glory and will be eager to share another win with his wife, after their "secret wedding".
Hideki Matsuyama was married to in January 2017, and they had a child six months later, much to the delight of the golfing community
In 2017, Matsuyama shocked reporters when he announced that he was married and that his wife had given birth.
He had a great season, which included finishing tied-second at US Open and winning WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Matsuyama also revealed that he had tied his knot seven months prior to the January.
He and Mei also welcomed their daughter Kanna in July.
The family keeps a low profile when it comes to the golfing world.
The star was not hiding his private life from the world, he just wasn't asked.
The 14-time Northern Trust Open winner stated that no one asked him if he was married.
"But I thought after the PGA would have been a good opportunity, because our baby was born and I thought that it would be a good moment to let everyone know."

His body did a little dip around the time Kanna was born, but he put aside any thoughts that he had about trying to keep his work and home lives separate.
Golf Monthly reported that he said, "Golf IS golf." When we are on the golf course, that is what I think about."
