Which is the largest Ryder Cup winning margin

Mathematically, the USA won the Ryder Cup by a margin of 23 1/2 to 8 1/2 in 1967's Houston victory over Great Britain.

The current format shows that the largest victory margin was 18 1/2-9 1/2. This was achieved by the USA once in 1981, and twice by Europe in 2006 and 2007.

Today's Ryder Cup sees the USA taking on Europe with 28 points total.

What is the record for a Ryder Cup victory?

SERGIO Garcia and Alex Noren were a stunning 7-up through 9 holes, beating Phil Mickelson (and Bryson deChambeau) on the first day of 2018.

The 8 and 7-year-olds have the greatest margin of victory in singles matches in Ryder Cup history.

This was accomplished when Tom Kite defeated Howard Clark 1998. Fred Couples inflicted the exact same fate on Ian Woosnam 1997.

However, in foursomes 7 and 6 remain the largest margin of victory that either side can achieve at this time.

This score was first scored by the US duo Hale Irwin & Tom Kite in 1979, when they beat Des Smyth and Ken Brown.

This has been repeated two times in 1991 and 2012.
