The celebrity-infused day saw cricket stars Stuart Broad, Ben Stokes, James Anderson, Ollie Pope and Kevin Pietersen feature.

Actor Tom Holland, Strictly Come Dancing star Anton du Beke, comedian Michael McIntyre and Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson led the non-sporting names.

While football icons Jordan Pickford, Robbie Fowler, Troy Deeney and Ben Foster were also in action.

Rugby aces Jamie George, Ben Earl and Jon Wilkin demonstrated their prowess with a club too.

But it was Murray and Bale who caught the eye with their strokes.

Tennis icon Murray went first as he sank a fine shot from distance into the hole.

The crowd went wild as the ball rolled along the green before hitting its target.

And Murray, who retired from tennis this summer, delivered a trademark celebration as he pumped his fist in the air.

Next up it was Bale’s turn as the Welshman also knocked in a strong effort.

The former Real Madrid and Spurs hero took it all in his stride as he cooly made his way to the next hole.

And the crowd could be heard gasping in astonishment at his obvious talent.

Indeed, Bale became famous at Real for his love of all things golf.

It eventually led to the Bernabeu crowd turning on him, as they perceived he prioritised the putting green over their football turf.

Bale even had a dig at Real’s expense with his famous “Wales, Golf, Madrid” motto.

The ace even has a golf course built into his garden at home and is sure to have been putting the work in ahead of today’s outing.
