TIGER WOODS will return to action next week after seven months out.

The golf legend has entered the Genesis International in Los Angeles.

The event will be Woods‘ first since missing the cut at The Open last July.

Woods, 47, tweeted: “I’m ready to play an ACTUAL PGA Tour event next week.”

He suffered two fractures in his right leg and a shattered ankle after being involved in a terrifying car crash in February 2021.

The American icon later made a miraculous return to action – but has since been plagued by further injuries.

He managed just nine rounds last year, and he now places 1,283th in the golf world rankings.

Next week will mark Woods’ first appearance at a non-major event since the Zozo Championships in 2020.

Persistent injuries have affected Woods’ ability to walk, and he was forced to withdraw from the Hero World Challenge in December due to suffering with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

While long walks remain an issue, Woods has been able to play in events that allow the use of a buggy, and he participated alongside his son Charlie at the PNC Championship late last year.

Opening up on his injury woes last December, he said: “The plantar fasciitis is no fun, and now I get to truly recover and heal and progress forward on this because there’s so many good things that I’ve been able to do physically, to be able to hit the golf ball and practice and do everything in a standstill.

“But I haven’t been able to get from point A to point B, and obviously going to work on this.”

Woods will be aiming to be fit for the Masters in Augusta in April – having come 47th in last year’s event just 14 months on from his car accident.
