GOLF fans were left in hysterics when TV images appeared to show Tiger Woods shaking hands with a tree at the Masters.
The hilarious moment came when the five-time winner was making his way through Augusta.
Tiger Woods appeared to get friendly with a tree at Augusta
Woods can be seen facing a tree, which amusingly has someone hidden behind it.
All viewers can see is an extended hand poking out from the bark as Woods is in deep conversation.
The image drew some funny reaction online.
One fan wrote: “Tiger Woods shaking hands with a tree is my new all time favorite Masters moment.”
A second fan posted: “End of an era: Tiger Woods shakes hands with a tree.”
A third shared: “@TigerWoods continues to make history. Shook hands with a tree.”
While a fourth added: “Tiger Woods shaking the hand of his favorite tree at Augusta. Nothing but class.”
However, it all became clear who the person was behind the tree.
It was revealed to none other than legendary US commentator Verne Lundquist.
Lundquist is hanging up his mic after a mutual decision was made for 2024 to be his last Masters.
Incredibly, this is his fortieth time working at Augusta.
Before his final weekend, he revealed his two favourite calls over the years.
One of those was Tiger’s iconic chip on hole No. 16 in 2005 and the other, Jack Nicklaus’ putt in 1986.
