The Irishman’s outburst came just a day after Scottie Scheffler had also voiced his anger at tournament organisers for not implementing preferred lies despite heavy rain earlier in the week.

The world No.1 was left fuming after being forced to play a mud-covered ball during his opening round, which led to a costly double bogey on 16.
