What was Team Europe's statement about Henrik Stenson like?

The shockwaves caused by Henrik Stenson's stripped captaincy shocked the entire golfing industry.

The statement read: "Ryder Cup Europe today confirms Henrik Stenson's tenure at the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, Rome, Italy, September 25-October 1, 2023 has been ended with immediate effect.

Henrik has made decisions regarding his personal circumstances that have led to it becoming clear that he is unable to fulfill certain contractual obligations to Ryder Cup Europe. These obligations were taken before he was announced as Captain on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. It is therefore impossible for him to continue the Captain role.

In due course, confirmation of the 2023 European Ryder Cup Captain's appointment will be made. Ryder Cup Europe won't comment further on any aspect until then.
