He got it just a few months after Erica Stoll, his lavish Irish wedding, had given birth to him.
McIlroy was not the first to own this luxury property. It had been owned previously by Ernie Els.
This incredible neighborhood was home to Michael Jordan, a basketball legend, and tennis royalty in Serena & Venus Williams. Also, fellow golfers Luke Donald, Michelle Wie, and Els.

FAMILY HOME
McIlroy was raised by Rosie and Gerry McIlroy's parents in their four-bedroom home in Holywood, Northern Ireland.
Gerry adapted it to make it a dream for young golfers.
Although a trampoline was found in the backyard, it was hidden behind a practice putting green.
McIlroy was the 2014 Open champion. He had his own simulator in the garage.
Father Gerry transformed the space into an area where McIlroy, a young curly-haired man, could practice his swing and ball-striking. Two TVs were connected to the system.
Holywood Golf was only a 20-minute drive from his home.
FIRST TIME BUYER
McIlroy was not a typical first-time buyer when he sold his family home.
McIlroy purchased Robinhall House in Moneyreagh County Down for around PS3.2m.
McIlroy's own driving range, put green and practice area included seven bunkers.
There was also an outdoor hot tub, a movie theater, and a lake with 1,200 trout. He could also play tennis with Caroline Wozniacki, his ex-girlfriend and former world No1 Caroline Wozniacki.
McIlroy, who was en route to America in 2013, sold the estate for PS2.5m.
AMERICAN DREAM
McIlroy made a move to Florida, where he was able to enjoy a beautiful Florida home.
The PS9.5m Palm Beach Gardens pad included six bedrooms, a gym and an outdoor swimming pool. There was also a putting green.
The expansive lounge area leads to a tranquil patio that is surrounded by the pool.
The water flowed along the mansion's side to a water feature.
