RORY McILROY wept as he apologized to his Ryder Cup team-mates, despite having won his singles match.
The four-time Major champion couldn't speak and covered his eyes with both his hands in a heartbreaking interview with Sky Sports.

McIlroy was still winless as he entered the final day. American Xander Schauffele won 3&2.
He did however show how important this team event, which Europe was set to lose by an unprecedented margin, meant to him with an emotional interview.
McIlroy apologized for his mistakes and appealed to the boys and girls who were watching to get their clubs and become the stars of the future.
The 32-year-old Northern Irishman said that he should have done more to help them [my team-mates] this past week.
"I am glad that I scored a point, but I cannot wait to have another chance at it."
"It's by far the most enjoyable experience in golf. I hope the little girls and boys who see this today will aspire to be part of the Solheim Cup or other similar events. There's nothing more rewarding than being part a team.
"I'm proud of all our players, captains and vice-capitols.
"I wish that I could have done more. It's been a difficult week, but I am glad I was able to make a point.
McIlroy's passionate speech won over fans.

McIlroy is one of Britain's most successful athletes, thanks to his Nike endorsement deal worth nine figures. He couldn't contain his emotion and spoke out from his heart after his match.

He stated that he had never cried or felt emotional about what he'd done as an individual. I couldn't even give a s ***..
"But this team and what it feels like to be part of - Sergio [Garcia] breaking records, John [Rahm] coming into his own this week. To see Shane Lowry, one of my closest friends, make his Ryder Cup debut.
"I am so glad to be part of it, but I regret that I didn't contribute more this time." We'll try again in two years.
