Rory McIlroy suddenly QUITS PGA Tour Board due to ‘professional and personal commitments’

RORY MCILROY has quit the PGA Tour Board just one day after its quarterly meeting.

The golf star has put his decision down to “professional and personal commitments’.

Rory McIlroy has quit the PGA Tour Board

McIlroy, 34, has been among the most vocal critics of the LIV Golf Tour.

His resignation comes as the PGA attempt to finalise a deal with the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

The Northern Irishman is currently in Dubai at the DP World Tour Championship.

He did not mention his intention to resign from the PGA Tour Board during his press conference on Tuesday.

But when asked if he enjoyed having a seat at the table, he revealingly admitted: “Not particularly, no. Not what I signed for whenever I went on the board.

“But yeah, the game of professional golf has been in flux for the last two years.”
