GOLF’S first major tournament of the year returns to our screens with 2025’s rendition of the Masters.
It’s the 89th edition of the iconic event, which will be held at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.

Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion

Rory McIlroy is searching for a maiden Masters crown
The course took a battering from Hurricane Helene in September last year, but Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley insisted in January that damage had been “minor”, and that the course was in “spectacular condition”.
The invitation-only event is one of only a few in the golfing calendar, which includes The Open and The Genesis Invitational.
Scottie Scheffler, the American, is the reigning champion, but the sport’s biggest names are out to usurp him.
Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy is among those looking to supersede him, while 12 of the entry list are LIV golfers, who have been given the green light to compete against PGA players for the first time this year at Augusta.
Previous Masters winners are within those ranks, including Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, and Bryson DeChambeau.
However, Tiger Woods, the five-time champion, will NOT be competing due to a ruptured Achilles tendon that he sustained last month.
There is a multitude of ways in which players can be invited to compete for the Green Jacket, but how have the 2025 field earned their places?
How did every player qualify for the Masters 2025?
