EUROPE Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald has named his team to face the USA.

Rory McIlroy, John Rahm, Roberty MacIntyre, Victor Hovlan, Tyrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick are automatic qualifiers.

While Donald has picked Tommy Fleetwood, 32, who is set to take part in his third Ryder Cup.

Austrian Sepp Straka has been included in Europe’s team for the first time ever after impressing at The Open, where he tied for second.

Donald, 45, has also opted for experience by selecting former world number one Justin Rose, who will make his sixth Ryder Cup appearance.

While he will be hoping Shane Lowry can provide an X-factor and help his team on and off the green with his infectious personality.

Nicolai Hojgaard also makes the cut with the Dane excited to test himself against America’s best.

Finally, Swede Ludvig Aberg has been selected, making it three debutants for Team Europe.

Donald was named Europe captain in August 2022, taking over from Henrik Stenson who was stripped of his duties due to his involvement in LIV Golf.
