COLLIN MORIKAWA, one of America's best golfers.

After winning his second major at Sandwich last July at 24 years old, the 2021 Open champion is now a rising star.

Katherine Zhu, his girlfriend, was one of the first to commend him.

On Instagram, she wrote: "So incredibly proud! You have done so much since you became a pro in 2019, and I can't wait for what's next!

They got engaged five months later in December 2021. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram.

Morikawa wrote "My forever, and ever, you are my love," alongside a photo of Katherine with a large ring.

Zhu played four years at Pepperdine University, earning numerous WGCA All-American honors.

The couple met through college golf with Morikawa at California.

Katherine, a Vancouver-born sensation, is so passionate about her man and the sport that she can often be seen on the PGA Tour caddying during competitions for him.

She stated that golf is a huge part of her life. It has taught me how to persevere even when things don't go my way. It taught me to be kind and respectful of others.

"Most importantly, I have golf made opportunities that have created lifelong memories that will last a lifetime. This amazing game has made me so thankful."

The couple shared some background information in a video they made for the PGA Tour last year.

Morikawa stated that they met in college and instantly clicked. It's amazing because I won my first college tournament the next week. We've done really well since then - it's really great.

Zhu acknowledged that their relationship is very competitive when they hit the course with Morikawa, adding: "Always we never let each others win."

"I believe she beats me in about 70% of our chipping competitions. This makes me a better player. It's amazing that we can always compete.

"To have her [on the PGA Tour] when no one is around, she can always bring a golf wedge to the course and we can always have fun."

Zhu studied high school in China at Zhuji Hailiang, before moving to North America to complete her international management degree.

The couple, a golfing power couple, began dating in April 2017. They shared three-year anniversary photos on Instagram last year to celebrate the occasion.

Morikawa shared their first picture together via social media in the next month. She joked that it was "probably not a good idea for your date to go to a roof top when she's afraid to heights."

They don't mind sharing their blossoming relationship with the world, especially Zhu's huge following.

Already, the brunette has 48,500 Instagram followers. But that number is only the beginning. She delights her fans with stunning bikini photos and beautiful selfies.

After becoming a foster parent this year, she spends most of her time baking treats and looking after her dogs.

Morikawa und Zhu enjoy going on dates, just like any happy couple.

It could be in cities where he plays tournaments, exploring the countryside, winning and dining at luxurious restaurants, or their personal favorite, a day on the beach.

Zhu took advantage of the PGA Championship in San Fransisco, to make it a day trip to the Golden Gate Bridge. However, Zhu was back at the course when her boyfriend won the title with a final-round 64.

Coronavirus rules caused a awkward high-five celebration, followed by a big hug.

After Morikawa had taken off the Wanamaker Trophy's lid, Zhu joined Morikawa to take a photo of the trophy together.
