GOLFER Jordan Spieth attempted a shot from the 70 FOOT CLIFF edge... but still made par.
The 28-year-old American faced two options when he shot his second shot at the par-four eighth hole of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He could either face his fears or take a one-shot penalty.
Spieth chose to take the shot despite the fact that it was at the edge of a scary cliff.
The former World No1 chose to stand on the edge of the cliff, dangerously close to a 21-metre plunge into the Pacific Ocean.
Colt Knost, a CBS analyst, stated that while this shot is scary in normal circumstances, it is now downright frightening.
"I went over to take a stance, and it's scary.
Nick Faldo, the legendary golfer, said: "Are your going to go for it? You wouldn't stand there and do that... Oh my goodness.
The 2015 Masters champion still managed to score a fantastic shot just beyond the green.
He would make par on the hole, indicating his decision to take on the terrifying cliff-edge chips.
The American explained that he decided to take the shot after his round.
It was kind of strange because it was like, "Well, if I can swing on it and hit it then why would it take me a drop?"
"Like every other time, it's never over," I thought when I saw a 65-foot high cliff. It's a very unusual situation. If you walk into a hazard and see a ball, you usually hit it out.

"I am just glad that I made it worthwhile, because I don’t think I would have made par without a drop. But if it was bogey, it would not have been worth it."
"But yes, it was more nervous and adrenaline hitting it. Then when I got to green as I was walking there it felt more anxiety. It wasn't before.
Spieth was just one shot behind the lead going into Sunday's final round. He finished the round with 14 under par.
