John Daly smokes while practicing for The Open, after winning over Past Champions Dinner fans

John Daly, a two-time Major winner, has lit up The Open in more ways than one.

The 56-year-old US star won the tournament in 1995. He has recently drawn new fans to the PGA Championship with his bizarre performance.

The US's most famous star

Daly was awarded The Open in 1995 by the Past Champions Dinner.

Daly's combo trouser and golf cart at the USPGA was a hit with golf fans

Daly was a big social media star as he drove around in his golf car, enjoyed Diet Coke and chain-smoked between holes.

The California native is now back in Scotland, and he's aiming for more success on the Old Course.

On Tuesday night, he looked great in a red warthog suit and looked professional at the Past Champions Dinner.

Daly practiced today in Fife's stunning weather. He wore bright floral shorts and a blue golf jacket.

Fans were reminded that Daly wore skull pants at the USPGA, where he led the field after seven holes.

The American star was in full American style as he smoked a cigarette while preparing for Thursday's tee off.

Daly was spotted taking selfies with Tiger Woods, a fifteen-time Major winner earlier in the week.

The Hooters-loving Daly will be teeing off this Thursday at 7.52am local, along with fellow Americans Cameron Tringale and Bryson de Chambeau.

To the delight of many, he was seen driving a golfball OVER a busy Ohio interstate.

DeChambeau has recently switched to LIV Golf over the PGA Tour, and a confused Woods said he didn't "understand" why the tournament is being hosted by the Saudi-backed organization.

Patrick Reed, wearing LIV-branded gear while plotting a second Major win, showed some affection for Liv.

Tiger hasn't ruled himself out of winning a 16th title at St Andrews, his first since 2006.

He stated that he was fortunate enough to have won all four Majors multiplely and that each section is its own.

"I have four shelves on a large cabinet so that all the Major trophies have their own row.

"And yes, there's room for more -- afterall, one row already has five trophies and there are four on another shelf."
