"It's not souvenir!" - Watch as a golf fan grabs the ball and receives a rollicking from a marshal at a pro tournament

A dopey golf fan grabbed a ball and received a rollicking at major pro tournaments.

The uninformed supporter wandered around the rough side by side, where fans could watch the action.

One golf fan saw Nelly Korda's ball and grabbed it.

She proudly walked alongside, proud to show off her new find

The situation was quickly rectified by a marshal who arrived on the scene.

He told her to return the ball to its original place.

Evidently, the marshal wasn't happy about the fan's mistake

After her miracle feat, she suddenly bent down to collect the ball and proudly held it up.

Her smile quickly vanished as a furious marshal rushed over to her and demanded that she place it back where it be before telling her off in clear terms.

Surprisingly, the ball wasn't just random found in the bushes, like at a local golf course.

It belonged to Nelly Korda the world's No3 star, who had just missed the fairway on the sixth at Evian Championship in France, with PS830,000 as the prize for the winner.

Sky Sports' commentator said, "Ooooooh it's no souvenir, it's nothing!"

"Oh, she's in great trouble now!"

His colleague said, "Nooo!" It had stopped rolling, too."

Fans on Twitter couldn't believe what they saw.

One commented, "Blows my mind how some spectators do at tournaments!" It was amazing to me that so many people were walking past the tee boxes, shouting at their friends or using their phones, it was all The Open!

Another said: "Can't really say she is a fan, probably her first time to golf."

A third was simply added: "Whoops!"

American Korda was at 13-under par and tied for third in the final round. This was three shots behind the leaders.

Although the 23-year old was not penalized for the fan's error, she did make her only double bogey with a six after her misguided tee shot.

Korda, whose sister Jessica is ranked 14th, and brother Seb is a top-60 tennis player, eventually recovered to finish back at 13, while Brooke Henderson won her second major on 17 under.

Korda tied for eighth place at Evian's tournament.
