It was hilarious to see a spectator at The Open trapped in his PONCHO by strong winds at St Andrews.

One unlucky Open fan was caught desperately trying to put on his poncho during strong winds at St Andrews.

The man was rescued by his friend, and all of it was captured on camera.

The fan is in serious trouble... Much to the amusement and delight of his pal

His mate was able to help him get his freedom.

The footage begins with the man in a poncho wrapped around his head and shoulders. His mate cannot help but laugh at him.

The friend laughs at his friend's ineptness and tries to help him find the right hole for his head.

After a short pause, the camera returns to show both of them happily dressed in their plastic ponchos.

The second man is looking at the entire situation from his right and seems quite bewildered.

The video clip was tweeted by the American sports TV network Golf Channel and received many funny replies.

One featured a GIF showing former US President George Bush, who failed to wear a transparent poncho.

Another person tweeted: "That must be a PGA Fan."

The second day of the Open Championship at St Andrews was being watched by spectators.

Cameron Smith, an Australian, finished Friday with 13 strokes less than par. This is two shots more than Cameron Young, who was second.

American Viktor Hovland led Rory McIlroy in third place, tied by one shot heading into the weekend.
