THIS is a look inside one of the world’s most exclusive golf clubs – but you will need half a million dollars to simply get in.

However, once a member, you will have access to a private movie theatre as well as the opportunity to tuck into ice-cream sandwiches while you are out on the course.

The Madison Club is an American private golf and country club that is located in La Quinta, California and has famous homeowners ranging from a Kardashian to their former neighbour Sylvester Stallone – who sold his pad for a mega $3.15m in 2020.

It features a championship-level golf course that was designed by Tom Fazio – a world-renowned golf course architect.

He has designed over 200 – 46 of which have been ranked by Golf Digest in their top 200 courses in the United States.

But very few come close to comparing to the incredible Madison Club.

Its official website states: “Over the years, Fazio and Discovery Land Company have partnered to create numerous award-winning members-only golf courses.

“The Madison Club is a crown jewel in its combined portfolio.”

Although the joining fee is not officially listed for the exclusive establishment, a huge range of reports claim that it is £400,000, which equates to half a million bucks.

And on top of that you’ll need to stump up an annual fee of £60,000.

Of course, America boasts some other famous and arguably more exclusive clubs, such as Augusta.

But while Augusta National golf course is one of the world’s most prestigious in the world, it is a lot less expensive.

The initiation fee to join Augusta National is believed to be around £160,000, and with monthly fees between £320 and £400, the cost is a whole lot cheaper in comparison.

So what do those splashing out get out of their membership at The Madison Club?

It boasts a whole range of luxury amenities, including a spa, a fitness centre as well as the movie theatre.

But firstly, let’s take a look at its course, with the website boasting: “Situated on over 150 acres with 120 acres of landscape surrounding all 18 holes, Madison’s Fazio-designed golf course provides a golf course unlike any other in Palm Desert.”

COMFORT STATIONS

We all know that a round can be thirsty work, but you have much more than just the opportunity to grab a beverage while playing.

A number of comfort stations are littered around the course, which were first introduced by Discovery chairman Mike Meldman in order to provide entertainment to his young boys while he was playing.

Their website now says: “This tradition is now a signature amenity that separates Discovery from the rest and brings a new level of fun to every round of golf.

“From tacos to homemade ice cream sandwiches, Discovery comfort stations provide timely treats that elevate a round of golf.”

There is the Madison Place just after the fourth hole, where you can “revitalise your spirit with breakfast and lunch snacks, an open bar, and some miso soup to warm your soul”.

Then there is The Dog House, which serves the likes of Madison’s signature PB&J’s to sliders and pressed hot sandwiches for a mid-round bite that overlooks holes nine, 18 and the clubhouse.
