Fans say ‘never thought I’d see shirts off celebration in women’s golf’ as viewers stunned by Solheim Cup celebrations

FANS have been left stunned after seeing a shirts off celebration for the first time in women’s golf.

Alison Lee’s incredible eagle on the second hole helped the Americans secure a crucial point, with the shot sparking unusual celebrations.

She jubilantly hugged team-mate Megan Khang as the ball dropped into the hole – but the duo’s joy was overshadowed.

Khang’s caddie Jack Fulghum and Lee’s bag-carrier Taylor Takada bizarrely whipped their shirts off in celebration.

They shouted “let’s go” and embraced each other to the shock of Lee, Team Europe and supporters.

Fans could not believe it, with one saying: “Didn’t think I’d ever see a ‘shirts off’ celebration in women’s golf.”

Others slammed their behaviour, adding: “Have some class.”

More commented: “Embarrassing big time.”

After the win, Lee lifted the lid on the caddies’ moment of madness and revealed it was part of a bet.

She explained: “Right after the first hole, he [Fulghum] kind of looked at us and said: ‘Come on, guys, I want to see one of you hole out. I want to see a really good shot‘.

“He said that if one of us holed out, we’d get $500.

“I said: ‘I don’t want your money, I don’t need $500. How about you take your shirt off?’

“And he was like: ‘Yeah, I’ll do it’.

“They both agreed, and it was crazy that it happened. Five minutes later, Jack was the first person to take his shirt off — he was so quick with it.

“I saw it from the corner of my eye, so I looked at my caddie and said: ‘Why aren’t you taking your shirt off? Take it off’. Then he finally took it off.”

USA are 10-6 up going into the final day.
