DESPITE groaning and wincing his way through every shot at Augusta, Tiger Woods has made the cut at The Masters.
The five-time winner struggles to walk after a he shattered his leg – as well as a number of other injuries – in a car accident in 2021.
Justin Thomas looks solemn as he fails to make the cut at The Masters
Woods made the cut after his best mate Thomas’ bogeys on the 17th and 18th hole
But, after recording a 74 in round one, Woods, 47, managed a second-round 73 that leaves him three under par at the halfway stage.
The cutline was initially two over, but moved to three over partly because of Woods’ best mate Justin Thomas.
Thomas and Sungjae Im were two over through 16 holes, when they both dropped shots.
JT was teary-eyed after bogeys on the 17th and 18th saw him finish on four over – and missing the cut.
Fans online pointed out the pair’s friendship, when it seemed Thomas was the one that could gift Woods the opportunity to make the cut.
One wrote: “Justin Thomas Is An All-Time Pal For Bogeying Down The Stretch To Allow Tiger Woods To Make His Record-Tying 23rd Straight Cut At The Masters.”
Another said: “Never say Justin Thomas isn’t a true friend.”
A third shared: “Justin Thomas just (unintentionally) did his buddy Tiger Woods a solid with a bogey at 17. If he goes par or worse on 18, Tiger makes the cut.”

Woods hasn’t missed a cut at The Masters since winning it for the first time in 1997.
The cold temperatures make it more difficult for Tiger to perform, and after Friday’s play was abandoned because of a downpour he could have been forgiven for thinking it isn’t his year.
On the 15th, Woods also suffered the misfortune of seeing his ball strike the pin and bounce further away from the hole.
It was a repeat of what happened to Tiger in 2013, when his ball rebounded off the pin and into the water in round two.
